Manitoba - Up in Flames: kinda like the Beta Band, but without the sucky songs (I like about 1/5 of all Beta Band songs, but the ones I like are really really good). Up in Flames is like an audio antidepressant.
Subversion: kinda like CVS, but without the sucky parts. It allows you to move files between directories and keep their history, works over WebDAV, and groups files together for check-in as an atomic transaction. TortoiseSVN seems to work nicely too. I've been meaning to try Subversion out for a while now but finally got around to installing it this past week.
Understanding Computers and Cognition by Fernando Flores and Terry Winograd: I'm on chapter 3 and I can already tell that I'm going to read this book again, probably more than twice. It's not a long book, but it's dense and philosophical yet still accessible to someone who just writes code for a living. I think this is the kind of book I was looking for when I first started reading Godel Escher Bach.
