SPAM + RSS = Probabilistic Missile
I've discovered why so many of my emails go unanswered: my address has the word "bank" in it. I've been using SpamBayes for a while now and I've been happy with the results so far. It doesn't categorize messages I've sent to myself as Spam, so I don't know what to do about this. If you were expecting email from me and haven't recieved it, check your spam folder.

I had a dream about Spammers breaking my mail filter the other night. (Yes, I know I should be thinking about other stuff in my dreams. I'll talk to my writers.) The spammer was reading my blog's RSS feed and from that text, assembled a body of random text that would obviously be of interest to me (albeit from a probabilistic standpoint- the text was mostly nonsense). I have no idea if this is actually being done already or if it would be practical or effective.

If anyone starts to actually do this with Spam and RSS, I have a name for it: the Probabilistic Missile.

It's nice to see that I'm not the only one who's sick of describing my social network for the Nth time: My social network ideal (link via boingboing)
